Today was our first, and very much deserved zero day, but we needed to run some hiker errands. Middle Brother needed to go to the Post Office and we all grabbed our resupply at Dollar General, but for the most part we bummed around. We got breakfast at Hardee’s and several rounds of gas station coffee. The guy with vertigo was feeling a lot better, so our COVID fears were put to rest. We timed our zero day well. There was some nasty weather rolling in, and we were fortunate to be spending our time under a roof. As it poured rain outside, we remained dry and spent the evening watching bad TV and eating a lot of cheese and pop tarts.

Although unplanned, the affordability of the motel and the nasty weather approaching us had us feeling guilt-free about another zero day. We ate at Hardee’s grabbed coffee at Circle K, snacks at Dollar General and ate Hunt Brother’s Pizza from the Shell gas station. It rained more overnight, and we were feeling very happy with our decision.
